Suz has been a friend and model for my camera since our high school days at Nobles (and her husband, John, went to our rival high school and was often part of our partying crowd – needless to say, I’ve known these two awhile!). When I started this business three years ago, she let her first son, Emmett, model for my portfolio building period (who I featured in one of my first product blog posts ever!). Well, time flies. Emmett is now big brother to Tobey, who is named after Tobey Island in the Cape where Suz’s family has vacationed for generations. And these two boys are expecting yet another – this glowing mama is pregnant with her third son!
Anyway, when Suz asked if I would be interested in heading down to the Cape for a family session, I knew I was in for a treat. The morning of, there was some hesitation about the on-off drizzly weather, but I am so happy we stuck it out because as you will see from these photos, overcast and threatening weather often provides the most luminous and atmospheric lighting.
I had so much to work with here: a graceful seaside home worn-in with memories, a scenic location right on the water, and, of course, a beautiful, loving family. There is something quite special about the family tradition of vacationing on the New England coast, and this is the perfect session to share before I start my own up in Rockport 🙂 Enjoy!
