For those of you who are looking for a rustic, outdoorsy, city-nomad photo session location (that’s great for dogs), look no further.  Middlesex Fells is a HUGE reservation a quick 15 minute drive up 95 from Boston (it makes up part of Medford, Stoneham, and Winchester), and it’s gorgeous!  From parts of it you can see the city, but for the most part you feel like you have been transported to New Hampshire.

This family wanted a location that showed how beautiful the natural scenery is here in New England and their hometown of Medford.  They moved up here a few years ago from Florida, so figured this session would showcase their admiration for the landscape to their friends and family back home.

We started at Sheepfold and then walked to one of the reservoirs, and then back up to the meadow.  Not always easy to photograph adults with a teenager son (sophomore in college), since by this point everyone is quite self-aware.  Different challenges with different age groups!  But Caleb, their adorable dog, kept the family connected, and we had fun exploring the reservation together.

Looking forward to another upcoming photo session at this new favorite location!

I certainly have a glowing-mama-to-be to showcase today!  This is actually a very special photo session for me to share.  Mariam (isn’t she so pretty??) is a friend from Nobles, and she and handsome husband Paul had me photograph their wedding last April at the Four Seasons.  Well, they got to work pretty quickly, and are expecting a baby girl come November : )  They decided to make the trip up to Rockport one hot summer weekend (filled with beach traffic and detours!), but I think it was worth the trek!  I gave them a little photo tour of the quaint downtown and Motif #1, and then convinced them to go on a “hike” up to the beautiful Headlands.

These two are going to make great parents with their combined sense of humor and ability to tell it like it is.  Their kid will have perfect teeth too ; )  Looking forward to meeting baby girl K once she arrives!!

ps.  Notice the mimicked “dip”?  Cute right??PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN

I have been to post this beautiful session for quite some time!  You may remember three of these subjects from this lovely session at the Lincoln DeCordova 2 years ago.  Well, Nabil joined the family about a year ago, so mom wanted to have updated photos with the family as a whole.  We decided to take these photographs in their hometown of Cambridge (about to move literally next door to my parents – so excited!), so we head to the scenic Radcliffe Gardens.  This is a pretty little enclosed park, great for families with small children who want a green-amidst-the-city look.  From there we head across the street to an AWESOME playground on Cambridge Commons with sand, water play, cool sculptures, and a merry-go-round.  I love how they turned out – but pretty easy with this adorable group ; )

I am now getting geared up for a busy fall with quite a few downtown and Cambridge city sessions.  Can’t wait!!PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN

If ever there was a quintessential Rockport family photo session, this would have to be it.  Baby Isabella and family were here for a week vacation, to soak up the sun, breath some salty New England seaside air, and eat some ice cream!  I encouraged a session in downtown Rockport so that we could capture this adorable family both on the beach (Front Beach) and taking a stroll in the center for some ice cream.  I am pretty sure all three family members didn’t mind this suggestion.  Isabella was seriously all smiles the whole time – she loved the limelight – and the sand and ice cream and parents’ affection.

Enjoy this scoop of a pretty yummy and sweet family session (and adorable preppy/nautical wardrobe – want mom’s dress)!!
