Introducing baby Henry!  I photographed this adorable infant when he was only a day old at Mt. Auburn back in October (in a post-delivery session you can view here).  Now, about 6 weeks later he has become, not surprisingly, a real cutie.  At times while I was photographing him, I saw flashes of a little old man.  His mom and dad currently live in MIT housing (dad is a student at Sloan), so I headed over to their place for a lifestyle shoot.  We started in their apartment, which was tiny but with great views of the Charles River and Boston, and then headed out for a brisk stroll along Memorial Drive.  Henry enjoyed the attention of the camera most of the time, but definitely was happiest cuddled in his parents loving arms.

If you are like me and are obsessed with the show Downton Abbey, then I think you are in for a treat.  When the mother of this beautiful family asked me if I thought the Crane Estate might be a good option for a portrait session location, I practically shrieked.  This seaside mansion has sprawling grounds and grandly decorated rooms that are so fun to explore. (it is almost too overwhelming for just one shoot).  It was the perfect backdrop for this well-traveled (and well-dressed!) Bostonian family.

Was even luckier on the day of the shoot – as you can see it was snowing.  Though a bit cold (see red cheeks and noses) my subjects enjoyed themselves playing and posing outdoors before heading inside to warm up and check out the annual Greening of the Great House.  I highly recommend this weekend-long event to other families with young children – and encourage future clients to book sessions here!

Aren’t I one lucky photographer to keep getting gorgeous senior high school girls to photograph?  And so many with a first name that starts with “A”!   Abigayle reached out to me on her own for me to take her senior picture and requested the Arnold Arboretum.  I can’t say I blame her (or Alissa who did the same!).  The park is a special place, the perfect New England backdrop with a huge variety of foliage.

Abigayle doesn’t just rely on her looks to get her places – she’s smart too.  Her favorite class is Math (I’ll never understand..) and wants to go to college to study engineering – Boston University is on her list of schools applied to.  I wish her good luck, and in the meantime, hope she enjoys these stunning photos : )

Introducing the most quintessential Boston Proper young family I have photographed to date.  Sarah, Matt and baby Jackson met up with me in the Public Garden on a chilly afternoon for a family photo session.  Sometimes, babies can be difficult out in the cold – but not Jackson!  This cutie-pie smiled and giggled the whole time, giving me ample opportunities to capture his blue eyes and perfect dimples. He certainly adores both his parents who showered him with affection the whole time.  The bigger challenge was to get them to take their gaze of their son and turn toward the camera!  But I really can’t blame them – Jackson is just too adorable (we also had lots of onlookers stopping by to check out the shoot).  Sarah had brought along a great assortment of baby gear for him to model, including my favorite item, his fur-lined booties!

At the end of the session I decided to stroll with them down Commonwealth Mall – where Boston workers were just starting to put up holiday lights on the trees.  Beautiful family + setting sun + newly lit trees = the perfect Christmas card photo opp?  I think “yes” : )
