A few weeks ago I woke up to a wet Saturday morning, but I had a feeling when I checked in with my scheduled couple regarding their engagement shoot a couple hours later that they would suck it up and endure the drizzle. Sure enough, the text I received read “Game on!”.
I have known bride-to-be Elizabeth since we attended all girls school together at Southfield in Brookline. She has always been bright, kind, and athletic (don’t let her petite size fool you!). After Southfield we both continued on the same academic path, heading over to Nobles in Dedham for high school. But, alas, for college Elizabeth decided to go to my rival, Williams. Boo! But, it’s a good thing she did, since that is where she met Stephen! Stephen is a great guy – (Seems to be) clever and has a sense of humor!
We began their shoot at Sofra, a favorite coffee shop in Cambridge where they live. From there we headed over to Mt. Auburn Cemetery, which we decided had a bit of macabre humor in it in addition to its scenic grounds. We searched around for the perfect tombstones (see photo), as well as some spooky and romantic trees. In the end, I think that the rainy day was a perfect match for the moody atmosphere. The photos of this couple are far from gloomy – I think the images instead capture their quirky, laid back and fun personalities. I even got a photo that shows them navigating the cemetery roads with the help of their personal mascot..I look forward to capturing Elizabeth and Stephen’s wedding in Milton in just a couple weeks!
